Descriptions
Sodium Lauroyl Glycinate is a mild anionic surfactant used in personal care cleansing products. It is naturally derived from vegetable feedstocks and is based on the amino acid, glycine. It is preservative-free, EO-free, sulfate-free and readily biodegradable.
It provides a rich creamy lather to formulations and is often used in personal cleansing products such as shampoos, body wash and facial cleansers. It is mild to skin and hair and leaves a soft after-feel, non-stripping so it helps hair and skin retain moisture and it provides good rinseability from skin and hair. It is stable over a broad pH range.
Typical use levels range from 20-40% as a primary surfactant, and 1-10% as a co-surfactant.
